Make plans for a Lenten journey through the station churches of Rome using parishioner George Weigel’s book “Roman Pilgrimage – the Station Churches” which is filled with historical information, beautiful photographs, and spiritual reflections for Lent, Holy Week, and the beginning of the Easter Season.
Each Sunday afternoon from 4:00 to 4:45 pm, beginning February 14th, we will gather for a Vespers service that will include Scripture, music, prayer, and reflections on the station churches and their meaning for today. This will be a tremendous opportunity to make the most of your Lenten journey and link what we do here in the heart of Bethesda to many of the most historic churches of Rome.
While a having a copy of “Roman Pilgrimage” is not essential for participating in the Sunday Vespers, a copy of the book will enhance your Lenten journey. The book may be obtained from Amazon as either a text or an e-book; we very much recommend the e-book, in which all the 400+ photographs are in stunning color.
I look forward to your being part of this unique Lenten pilgrimage together.
