Last Sunday, July 10, 2022, our Church was vandalized, and as a result, all Sunday Masses had to be redirected to the Christopher Hall Gym. Following this incident in our Church, we would like to express our sincere thanks to Matt and Michelle Flynn and their sons Matt and Shawn, for your immense help in setting up the gym for our Sunday Masses. Thank you to Marcus Alzona for commanding the livestream of our 10:00 am Sunday Mass from our school gym and for making it available to our community, and a special thanks to both our Facilities Manager, Elmer Menjivar and our Music and Liturgy Director, Dr. Giuliano GrisI, for your tremendous efforts in coordinating the celebration of Masses from the gym on that day.
We thank our St. Jane de Chantal parish family for your immediate response in prayers, encouragement, and support. Many have asked about how to provide financial support during this time. We are happy to report that the insurance will cover most of the expenses related to the repair and restoration of the Church. For those who would like to contribute to the restoration efforts, for costs not covered by the insurance, and other additional expenses for increased security measures, one way to do that is through our online giving platform, Faith Direct. While our community is saddened by these acts of persecution towards our faith, it is important to reflect on the words Father Giese told us on that Sunday morning: “What is important to remember especially now is that we are the church. We are the living stones. We are the body of Christ. And as long as our faith is strong and we are faithful, then we are fine, we are absolutely fine.”
