Registrations for the 2022-2023 program for Children’s Faith Formation for Grades 1st—8th, Kindergarteners, and Faith Of Our Toddlers (FOOT) from ages 3—4 years old, begins on Monday, August 1, 2022. At 7:00 pm Thursday evening, July 14, 2022, DeChantal school and faith formation families led by Michelle Flynn, gathered outside of the church to pray a rosary. As word got out about the arson and vandalism, a few parish moms thought the best weapon against hate is prayer. Parents wanted to come together to show Fr. Giese and Mrs. Hamilton their support after the attack on our church. After email chains went around to school and faith formation families, over 100 adults and children of our parish gathered and prayed the Rosary honoring the Luminous Mysteries. Decades were led by DeChantal school moms, a DeChantal teacher, and Faith Formation catechists. Intentions were made for our priests, staff, teachers, parents, children, and the parish. Popsicles were enjoyed by all after the beautiful experience. #deChantalStrong

Kotaro Ishi, Bill Hagan and Bart Baker were elected to the Pastoral Council for a 3 year term starting September 2022. Thanks to everyone who participated in the elections and please continue to keep the parish in your prayers.

Our recent Food Drive, organized and led by the Saint Martin’s Cloak’s Guild that took place on Saturday, June 11th was incredibly successful! We are pleased to report that 1092 lbs. of food were collected and the recipients, Bethesda Help, Catholic Charities and the Father McKenna Center, were all very grateful for your amazing generosity. We wish to thank the St. Jane de Chantal parish community for the compassion and generosity that they exhibited for others in our immediate community and beyond during this economically stressful time.

This weekend after Mass, the Pro-Life Committee will be gathering signatures to petition a ballot referendum, on 2 provisions within the Abortion Care Access Act (HB937), which includes – allowing non-physicians to perform surgical abortions throughout all 9 months of pregnancy. After Mass, we urge all Maryland registered voters to stop by the table in the Narthex and sign the petition to bring these provisions to referendum. Click to learn more!

Saturday, January 22, is the 49th anniversary of the Supreme Court decision which legalized abortion for all nine months of pregnancy. To memorialize this day, there will be a Holy Hour for Life, to pray for the end of abortion. Join us at 9:00 am, after the Saturday morning Mass in the church.
